Steve Stabler (Producer)

Mr. Stabler has produced and distributed over 100 full-length motion pictures during his more than 20 years in the entertainment industry.

In 1985, he founded and acted as Co-President of Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), an entertainment company focused on the production, co-production and worldwide distribution of independent feature films and television properties. Of the over 70 films he produced for MPCA, all generated a profit. Most of those films generated revenue even prior to commencement of principal photography. Under Mr. Stabler’s leadership, MPCA was profitable from its first year of business.

In 1995, Mr. Stabler sold MPCA for $32.5 million. He subsequently served as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of marketing, distribution, and production for Orion Picture, where he produced 7 films, released under the MGM banner.

Mr. Stabler next co-founded Destination Film Distribution Company, a domestic film distribution company underwritten by $100 million is asset-backed insurance financing.

Throughout the film industry, Mr. Stabler has established a reputation for putting more value on the screen than other producers. For example, Mr. Stabler produced "Dumb and Dumber", starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, which was made for less than $20 million and grossed nearly $250 million worldwide. He also produced "Threesome" for under $3million, which grossed over $65 million worldwide. Of the 40+ films Mr. Stabler developed for the video market since 1990, more than 25% of them were expanded to become full theatrical releases.
