Just finished reading it today. Incredible little novel. If you've never heard of it, it's about a guy named Robert Neville who's the last human surviving while everyone else has turned into vampires. Very, very good book, read it before the movie comes out!

SPOILER FOR THE SECOND ENDING

Instead of blowing himself and all the vampires up with a grenade. Will Smith's CHaracter sees thet the main guy just wants his girl friend back. So he gives her to him and all the vampires leave. The reasons why this is profound is one, he lives to share his cure, and twoo we realize that the vampires still have some human traits in them and are not mindless.

The dvd is out, and has two endings. both of which are good. i haven't read the book, but the film was great, and novels are usually much much better! I'd say it would be a good read.

I haven't seen the film yet, though I've heard that the ending was changed significantly so that the phrase "I Am Legend" doesn't have its original meaning. It's a quick read, so yeah, I'd definitely recommend it, movie or not.

This was the book that inspired the whole "vampirism as a virus" trend...and this was written in the 50s.

I watched the movie and was tempted to read the book.

Should I still read it?
