Apparently there is a new Super-man 4 comming out. It will be a sequel to Brian's last film, and he promises more action in this one!

I think the plot will be something like Lex and his nefew steal a strand of the S-man's hair he donated to a museum, attach it to a cloning device that will be activated by the nuclear explosion of a warhead super-man throws into the sun in his attempt to rid the world of nuclear weapons. Then battle royal time! And super-man is saved once again by Lex's girlfriend who falls in love with the blue eyes, jerry curl, skin tight suit, and little red booties.

Or I could be way off.

It looks like brandon is teh go to guy for the next stand alone super-man film. But I think they will get a different one to play him in DC version of Avengers.

Okay, been asked to post a review on this film.

I've only watched it the one time so far and will have to revisit it to get everything in, but after reading some reviews before hand I kind of knew what I was getting into. If you're familiar with the superman death story line, this one is kind of similar, in the fact that it has doomsday and superman dies, the similarities stop there.

I have to mention the slug fest betwwen the two titans. It had me on edge, the music behind the it all was very suspencefull, and it was a great slug fest. Altho it was over very quickly I thought. I felt like it didn't have the impeding doom and that Superman's only way to win was to sacrfice himself. Nor did the film convey that dooms day was THAT big of a threat before hand.

The animation itself was decent. Itreminded me alot of mask of the phantasm, which was released almost a decade ago. I'm not highly trained in animation, so i could be wrong here, but I didn't notice any significant leaps forward in the animation.

The voice actors weren't bad. Their dialogue was, at times. As for syncing up, I didn't notice anything wrong with it. They did a pretty decent job in that department.

Story line wise, I would have prefered if they didn't bring him back. It would have been alot better, in my opinon, to have built up to the fight for 30 minutes, then have a 40 minute slug fest, and 15 minutes for all the good byes. But its not that at all. Instead we get 3 seperate villans: Doomsday, Lex, and Superman himself. The story line runs fairly smoothly from one bad guy to the next, and I was pretty hapy with the job they did with it all.

Over all, I wouldn't recomend rushing out to buy this one. But it 100% most definatly is worth stopping you your local video store and renting it.

Edit: The bonus featurette on this Dvd is awesome! It details all the planning pre, during and post Superman Dies comic books. It is about a half hour (?) long, and it was really cool looking back on it. I don't know about you, but I can tell you exactly where I read that comic when it came out. It truly was a milestone in comic book history. This short film really brought me back to that time, and you get to laugh at all the hair cuts. But besides that, it was a very cool look inside what goes into making a comic book that is as big as Superman.

I heard this Lex is like not other Lex we've seen before. He is actually a threat to the man. And is Doomsday not good enough for you? Or even the third villan of the film... Superman himself! I doubt Lex wil be in the film for very long.

Could they use a villain OTHER than Lex? He's cool and all, but there are other villains!

Apokalips, PLEASE!

Yeah I know. We have a street named Lois Lane here in town... Go figure. Another famous northerner is Leslie Nielson. But he's from even FURTHER up north than I am. But he was in town for a few drinks a couple of months ago. Pretty cool stuff.

I read the same thing on SHH. It definitely sounds that it could be decent in the "ultra-violence".

This kind of harkens back to another thread where we discussed the fact that here in North America, cartoons are for kids and fun, not adult entertainment like the 'Euro-Asian-Far East' offerings that ARE created for adult consumption. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue so that we lovers of good animation can be entertained by quality stuff without having to feel guilty by not taking little-nephew-Johnny with us to the theatre.

We might be able to enjoy it all our selves

Besides... that dagger was Flint's.

Not the super-man movie this was started for, but there is a new direct to dvd out about super-man vs doomsday! Apparently the onscreen violence is much greater than any other super-man movie to date! Guess what its rating is? Thats right. PG-13! I wonder if there will be any other animated movies with that rating...

love the new signature! lol! And i'm so glad someone understood that joke! Worst movie ever. EVER. lol! I love when supe sees the clone for the very first time and then in a split second deduces what had happened. then of course luthor answer with "Super-man, you are the only one who can keep up with MY evil genious!"

I would have been like: "Super-man, you must be on crack laced with kryptonite. That is the most obsurd line of thinking possible! I'm not going to even bother being a super villan anymore cause all the heroes are mushroom heads!"
