Taken aback by the sudden, brutal entry to a sacred temple, Kakashi hesitates a moment before readying himself for battle. Mesai pulls a slender silver spike out of his belt and throws it high into the far wall of the temple. When it hits the wall it flares into light illuminating the entire hall. Already aware of his surroundings, Kakashi notices, a split second before Mesai, the creature laying in perfect camouflage ready to spear Mesai through the back with its barbed spine glistening with yellow poison.
Thinking fast, he throws his kunai and misses. Not through any fault of his own, but because the poison stinger had already been removed by one of Mesai's disks. The spider-like creature shrieks and falls off the wall in a shower of blood and ooze from it's wound. Mesai, somehow manages to jump in front of Kakashi in a protective manner, pushing him back into a corner. "Stay here. I will handle this beast." Kakashi, not one to back down from a battle starts to protest when Mesai suddenly leaps forward and slams into the spider with such force that the creature is thrown halfway across the great hall. This gave Mesai a few seconds to plan his next move. Before he could make it, a stream of lightening shot out from behind him to a large, wooden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It struck the chain holding the chandelier causing it to fall with a great crash onto the spider, killing it instantly. "I do not need you to babysit me. I am capable of handling myself." Kakashi said as he walked up to where the spider lay. "Humph!" Snorted Mesai. "We shall see kohai . We shall see."

"Kohai?" Kakashi said indignantly. "I am a jounin level shinobi. I am a master. I am no one's kohai."
Mesai looks at Kakashi and smiles, "Forgive me. I forget sometimes. But you must remember that compared to me, everyone is kohai. I have learned from the ancient masters and the new ones. I am the single most accomplished fighter on the planet. I have been around longer than anyone alive on Krynn, except Astinus of course. To me, even the oldest of the elves is but a newborn. Besides, I am here to protect you. You are too important."
Embarrassed by his lack of respect for an elder, "I apologize master Mesai. My arrogance and pride blinded me from the truth." Mesai smiles again, "Do not apologize. Let us see if we can find Magato." Mesai heads off to a wall at the back of the temple.
Kakashi follows glancing back at the creature crushed under the chandelier oozing thick yellow fluid. "I thought that was Magato." Mesai gives a hearty laugh, "No! Magato is far worse than a man-eating spider. I am also certain he would be very offended by the remark. HA!" Mesai comes to the wall and starts looking around, "I know its here somewhere... Ah! There it is!" He presses a barely visible notch and the wall starts to move slowly inward revealing a dark passage. "Excuse me a moment." Mesai looks up to the spike he embedded in the wall forty feet off the floor of the temple and jumps straight up to retrieve it. After getting the spike, the light douses. He throws the spike to the end of the new corridor and drives it into the far wall. "Well, now at least we can see where we are going."
Kakashi follows, silently wondering why he is so important.

They walk down the corridor carefully and on high alert. Mesai arrives at the end of the hall first. He listens very carefully and hears the faint sound of music coming from the corridor to the right. "This way." They arrive at a wooden door that opens easily. The music is much clearer now. It sounds a little funny though, as if it's being played from inside a small tunnel. They look down into the room. It is filled with mechanical contraptions and steam powered gears. There are pipes running every which way. Down in the middle is a small skinny person. Kakashi recognizes this person as a mizetto (mizetto are distant cousins to the gnomes of Abanisinia. Distant only by geography, that is.)
Mesai motions Kakashi to remain still and silent. He jumps down to the lower level, amazingly with no sound, and sneaks up on the mysterious mizetto. "MAGATO!" Mesai bellows. The mizetto leaps three feet into the air and lands in a heap of gears and pencils.
"Don't kill me! I swear it wasn't me I... Mesai? Is that you?" Mesai, laughing says, "Yes Magato, my old friend, did I startle you? I am so sorry, here let me help you up." Magato accepts Mesai's assistance. "Yes, you scared the bejeebus out of me, as usual." Still laughing, "I am sorry, didn't you hear me yell upstairs?" Magato replies, "No I did not. I get so engrossed in my work that I tend to tune out the rest of the world." Mesai looks more serious, "So I noticed. Did you know you had a man eating spider residing in the temple hall?" He motions Kakashi to come down. Magato looking fearful, "Had? You didn't kill my pet did you?" Kakashi approaches, "Pet? Your 'pet' nearly had us for dinner." Mesai apologizing profusely, "Magato, I am so sorry! I had no ide-" Magato laughs, "Ha! It wasn't my pet really. Thank you for the impropmtu pest control."
((Ugh! That dialog sounds like a bad Jackie Chan movie.  )) |

Kakashi looks confused. "Mesai-sama, what exactly are we doing here. One minute you are bellowing loud enough to knock down the walls, the next you are virtually hugging this fellow. I am going to need some answers fast before I can go any further."
((Sorry, I have been working on a fanfic and I haven't been able to think of anything to contribute to this. LOL))

Mesai laughs long and hard, "I'm sorry Kakashi. This is a standard greeting for Magato and I. Though he's usually more prepared and I get more of a workout. Magato? Meet Kakashi. He is the 'Chosen'. Kakashi? This is Magato. The best inventor of mechanical things ever born."
Magato's eyes widen, "He is the 'Chosen'? It is an honor to meet you Master Kakashi." Magato bows deeply in respect.
Kakashi nods his head slightly, "It is a pleasure to meet you Magato." He eyes Mesai intently, silently questioning what he means by "Chosen". "I hear music Magato but I see no musicians. Where is it coming from?"
Magato perks up at the prospect of showing off his inventions, "Ah. Hee, hee! It's over here Master. You see this large dragon horn here? Well the music is playing through that." He points his finger and traces it down along the horn, "It comes from here on this clay cylinder. I took a very sensitive feather and sharpened the tip to a fine point. Then I had some musicians play while I rotated the cylinder with the feather driving grooves in the clay. This copied the music to the cylinder. When the clay hardened I was able to re-play the music, now I can listen to it when ever I like."
Kakashi looks over the music player and seems impressed.
Mesai pulls Magato aside, "I am going to need a few things for our journey Magato. We travel to Kusanagi. We will need your best if we are to defeat the evil growing there."
((Think of Magato as the "Q" of this world. Lots of cool little gadgets to help would be warriors defeat their enemies.)) |

Kakashi pulls his Hitai-ate back over his Sharingan eye and goes to look over some of the neat little toys in the shop. At the same time he overhears Mesai say something about Kusangi. He looks over at Mesai and questions him about it. "I'm sorry for eavesdropping Mesai-sama, but I have incredible hearing, especially when I charge my eardrums with chakra to hear better. I overheard you mention Kusangi. We heard that the Sword of Kusangi was destroyed by Uchiha Itachi when he absorbed it and Orochimaru into the Sword of Totsuka. Are we going to the land where the Sword of Kusangi was made?"
((The Sword of Kusangi is unblockable even with chakra-enhanced weapons. You can block it by blocking the arm or body of the user or you can dodge it, but if you block it with weapon it will simply cut straight through it with no problem. It is called evil because it is rumored that Kusangi infused his own essence into it giving himself everlasting life. Kusangi was extremely evil and did gorrible experiments on humans in order to gain more power and immortality. Orochimaru followed in his path but had no intentions of trying to infuse himself with the sword. He considered it to merely be a tool. The Sword of Totsuka absorbs the person and all of their possessions it strikes into itself and puts them under a powerful genjutsu for all eternity. The Sword of Kusangi is not destroyed but is nearly impossible to retrieve. Note I said NEARLY.))

| My character is Rosemarta Dasrenvair she was found near Palanthas by a traveling mage by the name of Morgen Dasrenvair. Because she rememberd nothing of her parents or where she came from and because the mage did not much feel like traveling with a child he took her to Wayreth to be cared for by his companions. Before leaving Morgen gave her a new name, the best he could think of for a fiery temperd girl, and gave her his sir name. All the mages in turn saw to her well being but it was Parslain who took on the role of her 'parent'. When she was ready to studdy he detached him self from her leaving her to the care of her teachers mostly. She took the test with five of her other class mates. She and other were the only two that survived. She took the black robes some what out of spite for Parslain. She studdyd for a while more then began traveling. She is vary polite but extreamly hot temperd and easly bored. She is not above using her magic when she is angry but she will avoid killing if possible. |

| Ive desided to bring Morgen into the picture and elaborate more on him. Morgen was 45 when he found Rosemarta and on his way to Palenthas to meet with his coliges. He is a notorious womaniser all ways has been and he has no plans to change. He enjoys his drink, food and women, in that order when ever possible. He grew up in Flotsam his father was a ship maker. He began studdying magic when he was ten. Whent to Wayreth at 19. He wonders alot and stops in at Wayreth every so often. The way he looks at it he did the best he could for Rosemarta and he cant understand why she is always so agrey with him. He's good natured and he tries hard to be a good 'father' to her but being away all the time dose not help and he dosnt get that. |

((well, the thought came across to me that, Parslain knows of Rosemarta's back ground and possibly also knows who her parents were and about Kalas's axe. Therefore, that is the main reason he made her promise not to have anymore duels. He knows just how powerful she can really be. What do you think?))

So I thought I would elaborate on the relationship between Nelly and Gemsamay since it has kind of become important with the recent events at the inn.
While Gemsamay's mother, Celia, was pregnant with her, her father was still working as a mercenary, and was therefore away from his family a lot. A few months before Gems was born a group of seekers came to the forest where her village was. Some said the seekers didn't even know the Kagonesti were there, since they lived in the trees. Others said they were biding their time, waiting for the right moment to invade homes. Celia believed the latter. Rumor had it they had already gone into Kendermore in hopes of acquiring some little slaves. But We all know what a great idea that is. So she prayed to Chislev to send a guardian for her and her child.
There was a pack of wild dogs that lived on the outskirts of their village. They called them "the golden shadows" because they were only seen when they wanted to be, which wasn't often. And they all had gleaming gold fur. Celia was always leaving food for the wild dogs, and they trusted her more than they trusted any of the elves.
On the night Gemsamay was born, as the midwife was cleaning her up, they heard a scratching at the bottom of the tree that held Celia's house. The midwife opened the door with a broom in her hand ready to chase off whatever stray dog it must have been. When she looked down and saw that it was one of the golden shadows she stopped and stared. She had never seen one up close before. Even more shocking was the fact that it was a mother, with her pup. The mother seemed to be using her last bit of strength to get someone's attention, because by the time the midwife climbed down the tree, she was dead. She took the pup, who was about 10 months old, up into the tree and she stayed there ever since.
When the seekers did attack, Nelly warned the family and Celia was able to escape with her baby. They lived with the help of the wild dogs, on their own, for a year before Nelly felt it was safe enough for them to return home, where Gemsamay's father was waiting for them. He told them that an elf, with golden hair, came to him in a dream and told him that his wife and child were safe and would return to him when the time was right.
Nelly doesn't age any faster than Gemsamay. They are able to talk to each other, and they share wounds. Nelly can warn Gemsamay of danger from miles away.

This is Kalowen.
Kalowen is not from Kryn. She is not really from anywere. She is what is known as a Ma'ras or a watcher. She jumps from world to world just "observing" and sometimes she does more than just "observe". She can sift into different forms so that her enemies can't find her. SHe has been to the inn a few times, but she can blend in very well, so you may not have seen her.
*FYI: the Ma'ras are a race that I've made-up so there are not any stories about them-The person typing on the keyboard
