**Kalas smiled and nods most approvingly. A sign of a good Captain**
"A good practice, Captain Ogwen often did so with her crew"

*Thane smiled* "Common sense you see my friend but not all Captains seem to share it. I`ve known a few that barely grant their crews two days between runs" "Just means that they can do more jobs and get more money but what is the good of money if you`ve no time to enjoy it?" *said John*

"My two Captain friends Ogwen and Kurii had always put their crew first before all else, all the time my brother and I had sailed with them. The crew sees this and they will remain faithful to their Captain. I see that you also practice this Captain Thane"

"Indeed but it is more than faithfulness. As I said a tired or unready sailor can spell disaster not just for himself but for the rest of the crew and having a whole crew in a like state is doomed" "Is that what causes ships to wreak Captain?" *asked Lance* "Not always Lance. Often its due to storms or a careless watch that leads to something as bad as that"
((Really tired, I should get to bed. Sorry Fiz man I will post more tomorrow ))

"Have you ever been in a ship wreak Captain?" *asked Aldemere. Thane smiled* "Not in my own ship no but I survived one when I was starting out in the trade"

*Noticing his listening audience spread to a few near tables Thane smiled and continued* "There was fog out of the North and it was night. There was no moon and the wind had died. The ship was half the size of my own and we were trying to make a course for home, which was Balifor. Our navigator did his best but we hit rocks and the ship tilted sharp portside"

"It was so dark that none of us could see clearly what was happening, the stars above mocked us with their cold shine. Somehow the Captain found me and ordered me to help the men below. I stayed till I thought I could be sure the last man was a shore then I abandoned ship my self, Captains orders" "Did the Captain make it away too?" *asked Lance* "Eventually he did. I`m to understand he went about the ship looking for further survivors before joining the rest of us on shore" "Did you all swim?" "Had to, the row boats were smashed to match sticks"
