Was cruising the web when I came across this story...

"Is Warner Bros. Looking To Starfleet For Their Hal Jordan?
Beaks here...
That's assuming the new Captain Kirk wouldn't turn down an offer to play Hal Jordan in Martin Campbell's GREEN LANTERN - which, per producer Donald DeLine, will begin shooting this September in Australia (in order to make a December 17, 2010 release date). According to IESB's source (and Patrick Sauriol of Coming Attractions has evidently heard likewise), Pine is at the top of a list of potential "under 30s" Jordans. This makes much more sense than previous rumors, which sounded like total fanboy inventions (especially Nathan Fillion). "

Funny thing about this is that i first learned about this movie today and talked about who would make a good Hal. My buddy looked me square in the eye and said "The new Kirk". That dude has ESP I tell yah.

Straight from SHH, who got it from someone else...

The Mt Druitt Standard reports that New South Wales premier Nathan Rees has confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures will shoot Green Lantern at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney later this year (previous reports said in September). GoldenEye, The Legend of Zorro and Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell will direct. Here's a clip:

Premier Nathan Rees said filming would take place at Fox Studios with a substantial investment in digital effects work creating hundreds of jobs.

"The production is expected to employ 500 people at any given time, including 100 performers, 200 crew and thousands of extras," he said.

There is an entry in one of the MArvel/Wikipedia threads that state that the colour yellow does affect the rings power unless the willpower of the user is extremely strong. Kind of like Superman can deal with Kryptonite if there is a reason he needs to (like lift an island or save lives)

There are a whole bunch of other clips with justice league, so I just chose this one

So...It's the old-steal-the-horse-bit again is it?
All right, let's do it...if we have to.

Bannana peels can be harmful if you trip on them, and besides you didnt say they had to be harmful you just said yellow. And the first thing that pops into my head when u say yellow is bannanas. I was makeing an attempt on a lil somthing called humor

If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it does it still make a sound?
james Posted - 25 Mar 2009 : 18:33:41
um... banana peels can't hurt you. It would have to be a lot of them at high velocity before they hurt him. And no he wouldn't be helpless. His ring wouldn't have any effect on them, that is all. Yellow doesn't turn him into a weakling and kill him.

ha ha Green lantern is a poo per I watched and episode of the batman where the penguin pinched his Ringo-ring
dark mage Posted - 25 Mar 2009 : 16:35:57
At least with Criptonite and SuperMan it is semi understandable but yellow? So if one of his apponents dumped a pile of bannana peels on him he would be helpless?

"I've got you know, give it up so and so" points ring at who ever.
"Not today Green Lantern" presses a button and a net above dumps a ton of bannana peels onto the head of the Green Lanturn. Compleatly imobelising him because his ring is powerless against yellow.
"You fiend" hisses the Green Lantern.
"Ha Ha Ha too bad so sad" laughes the evil guy as he walks away.

Hummm.... kind of sounds like an unfair fight if you ask me. I mean if it can do ANYTHING that means that any attack made by the enemy would be utterly pointless. I doesnt it have a limit? Like on the number of times it can be used?

It can do ANYTHING. He is only limited by his imagination.

The animated tv show justice league had an episode where the bad guy in the future had killed all the justice leaguers. He claimed that green latern was the hardest to kill. I can't recall the episode, but it shows that a simple ring can be a powerful weapon when you have a great imagination.
