I enjoyed Feast a lot more the second time I read it. First time I was having a hard time reconciling the loss of some of the pov characters.

It's gonna be weird not having Rob. Not that he was used extensively in any of the books, but just having him around affected all of the other arcs. Jon is still the best character. I am REALLY looking forward to Tyrion's new arc.
Edit: Arya's arc is looking REALLY cool!

Am I too drunk, or did GRRM just post that he's finished Dance?
http://grrm.livejournal.com/130165.html
EDIT: ok. Now that I am sober, re-reading GRRMs post leads me to believe that he finished a Jon Snow chapter, not the book. That trickster. He threw me off with the "nuff said" after the picture of ADWD. |

Even sober I was confused by that post.
I hope this means that he is increasing the pace on which he is writing this novel!

I just finished A Feast for Crows. And I thought Edgar Allen Poe had issues. Dude, could GRRM be smoking crack? It is a great story, but what the hell?!?!?! Now, we get to read a book (if he ever finishes it) that we already know what's going on in it. AND we have to wait until that book is finished to find out what happens next in the arcs we've already read. This is what happens when a book has too many characters.
Good story though.

Actually, GRRM blogged that A Dance With Dragons will also continue some of the cliffhangers from Feast, so we wont have to wait another 5 years or so before we find out what happend to Brienne, Cersei, and Arya.
He also mentions that he is having a very difficult time with the story arcs and timelines. (go figure).
Glad you like them. Now we just have to wait for Dance to be done and for HBO to greenlite A Game of Thrones.

HBO greenlighted the TV series. I hope it lights a fire under GRRMs ass.

I've only read three chapters of A Game of Thrones, and I think it's great!
So far, the characters i like the most, are Sandor Clegane, Littlefinger, and Tyrion. the last two are hilarious.

Martin's blog posts make it appear that he is really close to finishing the fifth book, even suggesting that me may be done in this month. Hopefully it will be complete by the time you reach the end of the 4th book nm.

There are a couple things that confuse me. Fisrt, is the Wall made of Ice or Stone. And Second, between the three of them, is Robert Baratheon the oldest, or Stannis Baratheon. just a little confused there.
Just started A Clash of Kings, by the way.

The wall is made of ice, they cover the top with gravel so they dont slip when they are patrolling it.
I think brothers oldest to youngest: Robert Stannis Renly

Ok, thanks Sirch. I knew that Renly was the youngest, but i couldnt figure out about Robert and Stannis. At first I thought that Stannis was the oldest, but Robert became King, since he was the one who killed Rhaegar in battle. then i got confused later on.

NM, not sure what edition you have, but the books should have an appendix at the back with all of the House genealogies. There are so many characters that it's a necessity. GRRM lists siblings in order from eldest to youngest.
Glad you're enjoying them and welcome to the cult. LOL |

My editions have house genelogies. It's just some are really long. Like House Frey, for example.
