Dear Fans:
I'm not quite sure what happened to my other post so I'll redo my welcoming message to new players. Again, as stated in the topic - I welcome you to the Dragonlance Movie Site forums. While the forums were originally intended to be unmoderated, as time progressed the DLMS administration felt it wise to appoint a new moderator to the forums. While may of you may know me (my real name - which I ask you not to disclose) from other role playing sites, conventions and philosophical works on the internet - my name is Phoenix, and my screen name on the DLMS forums is Justarius (which you can note toward the right hand side of my post - where your screen name will be when you make your first post).
There are a few rules which I'd like to put some emphasis on before you begin using the forums. The rules are meant to work along side of any rules found on the DLMS website in regards to the forums, and are meant to provide the fans with a fun place to exchange Dragonlance movie ideas. If you have any questions whatsoever in regards to any of the rules listed, please contact me by using my email address at the end of this post (please don't ask me in the forums).
- For each post, please make sure it is placed within the appropriate thread. Within the thread make sure that your post is somewhat related to the subject at hand - while moving off-topic is fine for conversational purposes, try to stay on topic or create a new thread.
- Please make sure each thread is somewhat related to Dragonlance Movie suggestions, ideas, or thoughts concerning it. While off-topic posts might be tolerated as replies to a specific thread, threads should be in regards to the sites theme.
- Complaints, suggestion or love letters (*snickers*) should all be directed to the forums moderator or the DLMS administration. Please do not fight with or complain to the forums moderator on the forums, this is disrespectful and takes away time and space on the forums. All questions should be directly emailed to either staff (the administration or the moderator).
- As it states elsewhere, if the content in the forums offend anyone please go elsewhere - while the forums are moderated, the moderator is not a babysitter (same applies as to the reason why fighting isn't tolerated). If however, the forum content offends the forums moderator (which is extremely hard to do), he does have the right to remove the post and warn you through your email (this is of course the case with comments which could disrupt the conversation flow on the forums).
- Please make suggestions to the forums moderator in private if you disagree with the removal of a post - also, however, abide by any decisions the forum moderator or site administration makes (usually it will be in the fans best interest).
- Forum topics will be closed or locked for various reasons. Often times a topic will be closed because either it hasn't been checked in a while or because the conversations have completely gone off-topic or they may mimic a discussion in a newer thread. The reason why mimicking discussion in another thread isn't good is because it makes the discussion harder to follow. Don't be afraid to start a new thread - of the moderator feels the new thread's posts belong with the old thread, he'll make the fan's life a lot easier by copying and pasting the entire discussion into one thread.
- Many posts in a thread are fine. Try to spread the topics out if you can (if they deal with subjects you think other fans would benefit by taking part in).
- The removal of posts may occur for many reasons - most often the post's content can be found within a discussion taking place in another new thread. Please pay close attention to the Subject lines of threads.
- Lastly, make sure the Subject line of each post defines the topic of conversation. The moderator reserves the right to edit your Subject line to help make it's topic more understandable for other players - the moderator will never change content within any posts (this is in regards to editing not removing posts).
Thanks a bunch for following the rules! See you on the forums, Phoenix
